The objective of the project is to develop practical guidelines for employees of public transport enterprises and transport operators to interact with people with dementing disabilities and the accompanying person adequately. Experiences and stories of people with dementia, their relatives or other accompanying people as well as experiences of employees of public transport enterprises are the main foundation of the guideline.

Empiric data and a literature research of a preliminary project are the data basis. The project focuses on the affected people´s and their relatives´ perspective and the development of a guideline. Three focus groups with relatives of people with dementia are performed in the federal states Lower Austria, Salzburg and Carinthia. The key issue of the focus groups are experiences and stories of moving with people with dementing disabilities with public transport (bus, train) and in public space.
